The teachers I remember are: Ms. Rasmussen English. Mrs. Waldron Math. Mr. Anderson Science. I can't remember my homeroom teacher's name or the P.E. teacher's name, but I remember what they looked like! I also remember Mr. Lopez and Mr. Couch, although I was not in their classes... and Mr. Hertz was a great principal! We paid for and put up the "Class of '75" sign out front. I remember painting all the trash cans in the school too! What fun that was! Some of the classmates I remember are Susie Grosser, Dianne Self, Stevie Travato(Spelling?) Boycette Vinson, Lori Mueller, Laurie St. George Joe Stockfish. Where is everyone?! Ms. Rasmussen was my favorite teacher. I often wonder whatever became of her. I moved to TN while a softmore at Gladstone, so I did not graduate with my class. I didn't like the fact that half of the students went on to Azusa High and half went on to Gladstone High.

The only thing that sucked was that in high school half of the students go to Azusa and half go to Gladstone.I remember when Ms Welch was messing around with the janitor, Mr Graham. I remember Mr Reiner, who was the best teacher that I have ever had.Mr Maroste, Mr Garcia, Mrs. Chandler, Mr Marlen Mr Nolting, Mr Hertz and all of those teachers that we gave a hard time, but totally respect now that we are grown up. Remember that 6.1 earthquake we had October 1, 1987? I experienced that at Slauson.I remember my bestest friend in the world, Evelyn Huskins who I will never forget the memories and all of the fun we shared together. Evil, you will always be my best friend and I will never forget you or all of the fun that we had at Slauson. When I hear of former Slauson students passing away I remember them just as I did as when I was in junior high with them. My son who is a 7th grader at Slauson hears all of my stories and memories that i experienced at Slauson almost on a daily basis. Well I want to end this by saying SLAUSON CLASS OF 88 ROCKED!!!!!!!!!! I wish for peace and happiness to all of my former classmates and I love ya all. Gracie Herrera, Aka Boner, named by Evelyn.

| Wrote... Mrs. price was my home room teacher. I loved when she'd read to us. She read To Kill A Mokingbird, and A Tree Grows In Brooklyn. She read in character. I miss the innocence of that time and the way it felt resting my head on my desk and listening to her speak. She and Mrs. Smith loved what they were doing and it rubbed off on many of their students. Today, I read to my own children and students I teach. I always feel better after reading to people. But I doubt that I'll ever be able to duplicate what Mrs. Price was capable of. I hope she's still teaching. As for Mrs. Smith. She taught me about the constitutuion. At the end of the year we had to pass a 220 question exam to pass her class. She was a fantastic history teacher because she told stories as if they had just happened yesterday. She also turned me into a news junkie. She used to teach us how important the news was by having us play the EYE WITNESS NEWS GAME. OThers cheated but I felt a sense of pride when I knew an answer. Both she and Mrs. Price instilled confidence in me. My math skills are still lacking however, largly due to Mr. Western and Praise. I learned more in one month from Ed Coats, than I ever did from Western. I think he was too caught up in his own life and that affected our class. Plus he paid too much attention to a few individuals rather than the material being taught. Overall Slauson was a great experience and I still think about my school years fondly. | |
