Hello Alumni,
I am from the class of '72 and I am teaching PE and the Athletic Director. The athletic program at AHS is doing great. The Girls program has developed into a very competitive program. Our singles tennis player Janet Perez was the League Champion. There were 2 boys in Cross Country that advanced to the CIF finals. Volleyball, Girls Tennis and Cross Country (boys and girls) competed in CIF playoffs. Our lower division teams are also doing well. Makes it look bright for the future. Why am I telling you this? The one thing that we are always lacking is $$$$$! We are currently working on a couple of projects. The backboards in the gym are the same ones that you played on! They are in need of replacement, The runway for the pole vault and long jump need renovation, the wrestling team has been so successful, there are so many wrestlers...and only one mat to practice on! As you can see, there is allot to do with limited funds. Coaches, players and boosters are constantly fundraising....profit on a 50 cent candy bar only goes so far. What can you do? A donation to the Athletic Department in any amount would be greatly appreciated. Our long term goal is to have our own stadium on our campus. Citrus College is beautiful but is is very expensive for us to play our games there. But, that is the future!
